“Bluebird” is the nick-name affectionately given to this project that has been in the works for the last couple of years.

The Eye’s Allure
•June 29, 2009 • Leave a CommentAs it is with most of Christopher Guy Harrison’s designs, this beautifully hand carved, solid wood mirror boasts a five foot standard diameter. It can be made much larger, for instance, to accommodate a grand hotel. This mirror now hangs in an uptown Charlotte hair salon……and looks fabulous. It’s very heavy and presented quite a challenge for me and the lucky employee who was working the day it arrived. We absolutely got it hung by days end! The mirror itself is convex which draws the eye, then ushers it towards the carved bands finished in 18th Century Silver. Predictably, we dubbed this piece the “Hurricane”.
Elegance In Luxe
•May 19, 2009 • Leave a CommentThis console and mirror from The Christopher Guy Collection is a statement in and of itself. The mirror can be customized to a hieght of more than 7 feet to be used as the main attraction without the console. It is solid, hand carved wood, and painstakingly hand finished by master artisans. This is one of my favorites! The console is every bit as glamerous as the mirror. The perfect union for a large scale foyer, hallway, gallery, or room.
Simply stunning, this dining collection from Christopher Guy eases into decor styles. It’s roots based in traditional Parisian and Italian disciplines, Chris Guy works a twist into each piece. One of the reasons I love Chris’s designs is the emotionally evocative nature of them. It’s powerful! The customer who actually purchased this dining table and chairs (fabric is Beacon Hill: Chocolate Paisley Couture Silk and oh my, yes, it IS yummy for the texture compulsive) seamlessly added it to her French decor. As pictured above, I used this dining collection in a Mediterranean style home. The collection worked equally as well in both settings.
In my opinion, these pieces transition fairly simply into most decors because the fundamental design is well grounded in traditional roots like Rococo, Baroque, and Renaissance stylings.

Banquette and Mirror from The Christopher Guy Collection
This Banquette from The Christopher Guy Collection sat in the foyer of a 13,000+ square foot Mediterranean style home on a 2 acre waterfront lot in Waxhaw NC. The floor consists of 18×18 inch Travertine tiles with a Walnut wood plank inlay. The mirror above the hand made double doors is also from CG.
